New York City Pinhole / 2011 -2014

My NYC Pinhole photographs are made with a 4 x 5 inch wooden pinhole camera, a Leonardo, designed by Eric Renner. I shot color negative 4x5 inch film. Exposure times varied from several seconds to many minutes.

The photographs were made between 2011-14. They were exhibited in a solo show at Meredith Ward Fine Art Gallery, NYC in 2014. There are 50 photographs in this series. A catalogue reproducing the 29 images displayed at the Meredith Ward gallery, NYC, with an essay by Robert R. Riley, is available and can be purchased on this website.

In the last photograph here you’ll see my shadow with the camera & tripod projected into the scene. Followed by, a snapshot of me photographing on the Brooklyn Bridge.

On the Brooklyn Bridge with a young admirer. Everywhere I went in NYC people yelled “pinhole” at me or asked ”what kind of camera is that?”
