Aegean Islands /

In 1997 & 1998, I went to three islands in the Northern Aegean—Lesbos, Limnos, & Chios on a cultural exchange program. When asked to describe what I would do on my exchange, I wrote that I would photograph Greek women. The portraits are 16 x 20 inch prints. I brought my Rolleiflex camera for the portraits with enough film for 1 roll (12 exposures) for each shoot. However, after I made one or two photographs, the women were done with being photographed, and insisted on going inside for coffee and treats. Each portrait is a 16 x 20 inch print.

I also shot with my Leica CL The photos that follow the portraits were made with it; and printed on 8x10 inch paper with a wide border.
